Muncie Survival Guide

IU Muncie Medical Center
Welcome to your first year of medical school! We, the 21 second year students (and faculty and staff), are eagerly awaiting your arrival!

The Muncie Center is a great place to live and learn. We are associated with Ball Memorial Hospital, one of the top 100 Regional hospitals in the nation. We hope that you will enjoy your time in Muncie, and grow to appreciate all that our center has to offer as much as we have. Despite what you might hear from other centers, Muncie truly is the best!

We’ve broken up the Survival guide into sections of general information, things to help you with classes, and advice for living (and playing!) in Muncie.

The basics

Chances are you’ve already heard from or met Ila & Kim, our center “moms”. They are really the heart of the center, nothing would happen without them! If you have a question about anything, one of them will have the answer.

Very few of us put Muncie at the top of our center preference list, but we’re now all glad that we’re here!!! It didn’t take us very long to realize how lucky we are to be at a center with great facilities, intelligent professors, close proximity to Indianapolis, and an amazing tight-knit community. Muncie’s not always the most thrilling place to live, but you’ll find everything you need here. Our class is truly looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you, and we’ll always be available for any questions you have, or just to kick it, med school style.
