Mock Interviews

Getting the most out of Mock Interviews:

Be prepared to ask good questions of your interviewer.
The "Careers in Medicine" website has some excellent sample interview questions.

The department of Academic Advising and Career Mentoring arranges for faculty to conduct mock videotaped interviews to help students prepare for residency interviewing. The interviews are approximately 30 minutes in length and are offered on two dates, one in September  and one in October, which allows for all students, including those who are in the early match program, to participate.

The interviews are treated as the real thing – complete with appropriate dress. The faculty interviewer will have a copy of the student’s CV and personal statement.
Faculty conduct a 20-25 minute interview with an additional 5-10 minutes of critiquing student’s interviewing performance.
Interviews will be recorded for students to view.

If you're interested in participating, watch for an email in early August or contact:

Michael McKenna, M.D
Director of Career Mentoring
Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics
