Smartphone Requirements for Clinical Encounters Tracking Smartphones

The recommended device(s) are iPhone4S, Android v2.3, or Windows Mobile 7. CERTTS is a web-based system and a number of mobile devices and smartphones will be supported. The device is highly recommended to have a touch screen interface. Mobile devices will need to have a cellular data plan to access the CERTTS web interface from all clinical locations as Wi-Fi may not be readily available. Most carriers include data services with their service plans for little or no extra cost. It is recommended that the device have Wi-Fi capabilities as well.

The iPhone4S, Android v2.3 and Windows Mobile 7 are recommended because they fully support the CERTTS requirements and have ample storage for additional medical reference software. These devices enable you to submit CERTTS data, check email, and also run applicable medical reference software. These devices have great touch keypad design, along with some providing slide-out or standard keypads to make text entry more convenient. Some older devices that run older versions of mobile web browsers are unable to display CERTTS content correctly. Although the recommended devices are among the latest versions of the mobile operating systems, there are several devices that are supported and they are listed below:

Any of the devices listed below must at least have the following Operating System version: iPhone 4 or newer, Android v2.2 or newer, Windows Mobile 7 or newer. Android tablets, Windows tablets, and the iPAD are also supported, as long as they are able to connect to a wireless carriers cellular data plan where/when WI-FI is not available.
